For security reason, please enable Biometrics or set a Passcode on your mobile device to activate and access the Alumni e-Card.

Please download and install the “HKBU Mobile” app through App Store/ Google Play on your mobile device. You can use your alumni ID, which is your first student number, to activate the Alumni e-Card in a few simple steps. For detailed instructions, please refer to the user guide. 

You may also refer to the tutorial video available on the Alumni Affairs Office website. For mobile devices which do not support App Store/ Google Play Services, you can download and install the HKBU Mobile application file here. 

To activate the Alumni e-Card, you need to input your alumni ID, preferred email address or mobile number registered with the University, for receiving the one-time password. 

To complete the activation, please make sure you have a preferred email address for receiving the confirmation email of successful activation.

Alumni ID is the student number of your first study programme in HKBU. You can only use this student number as the alumni ID to activate the Alumni e-Card.

For enquiries of alumni ID, please email the Alumni Affairs Office at alumniecard@hkbu.edu.hk, state “Alumni e-Card Activation” in the subject line. Please state your full name in English and Chinese (if applicable), graduation year, graduation field, and the first 4 digits of your HKID card/passport number or last 9 digits of your card number of the People's Republic of China Resident Identity Card for verification purpose.

Only your preferred mobile number registered with the University is valid for activating the Alumni e-Card. It is possible that the mobile number you entered is not registered with the University. Alternatively, you may choose to receive the one-time password via your preferred email address registered with the University.

One-time password SMS currently covers mobile numbers from Hong Kong, Macau and Chinese Mainland only.

No, you can choose to receive the one-time password through your preferred email address that is registered with the University.

The one-time password is valid for 5 minutes. If the code expires, please press “Resend” to request a new password for activation.

The Alumni e-Card is immediately available as soon as the activation process has been successfully completed.

Retrieval of Alumni e-Card does not require logging into an HKBU account. You only need to launch your “HKBU Mobile” app and then click “e-Card” at the bottom of the front page. The Alumni e-Card shows your name, the Alumni e-Card number and a QR code.

HKBU alumni shall install or embed their Alumni e-Card on only ONE mobile device using the official “HKBU Mobile” app.  

If you change your mobile device, it is necessary to reinstall the “HKBU mobile” app and reactivate the Alumni e-Card on your new mobile device.
