Subsequent to its Annual General Meeting successfully held on 21 July, the Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association (HKBUAA) held its Inauguration Ceremony of the 63rd Executive Committee cum Gala Dinner at Choi Fook Royal Banquet at iSQUARE, Tsim Sha Tsui on 7 September The event successfully attracted over 250 guests to attend, including Dr Clement Chen, Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Ms Rosanna Choi, Treasurer of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Martin Wong, Provost; Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Cheng Yuk-shing, Interim Dean, School of Business; Professor Ronald Chung, Dean, School of Continuing Education; Professor Daniel Lai, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences; Professor Tang Tao, President of UIC; Professor Henry Fock, Director of Student Affairs; Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs; three HKBU President Emeritus, namely Professor Albert Chan, Professor Roland Chin and Professor Ng Ching-fai; HKBU Honorary Doctorates, Honorary University Fellows and Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, other community leaders and alumni graduated in different years.

Professor Martin Wong delivered a speech to send the heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the University to the new committee, and also took the opportunity to introduce the latest developments of the University to the attending guests. Alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA, gave a vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude for the staunch support rendered from alma mater and the University community. He then presented a souvenir to Professor Wong, which was followed by a series of photos taken to commemorate the occasion.
