Event Information

In 2016, the University launched a fundraising project aimed at raising a total of HK$10 million for the set-up of an endowed professorship in honour of the late Dr Mok Man Hung, former Vice-President (Administration) and Council Secretary, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Head of the Department of Chemistry of HKBU, to acknowledge his contributions over the years. It was hoped that the distinguished position would help in recruiting and retaining the high-quality scholars and financing advanced research so as to advance the frontiers of knowledge for the benefits of the wider community.

Thanks to the collective efforts of alumni and friends of the University, the fundraising target was achieved and the Dr Mok Man Hung Endowed Professorship in Chemistry was bestowed upon Professor Gary Wong, Chair Professor of HKBU. In recognition of the alumni and friends of the University who are Diamond Sponsors, Gold Sponsors and Silver Sponsors, an acknowledgement plaque has recently been established in the HKBU Department of Chemistry.
