Alumni Enjoy Memorable Moments at the Alumni Investiture Ceremony

Hundreds of alumni participated in the events of Homecoming 2022 organised by the Alumni Affairs Office, the theme of which is “Be with BU”. Participants returned to their alma mater and enjoyed the memorable moments of the events held on campus on 15 October. The event programme includes Alumni Investiture Ceremony, Campus Tour and the First Worldwide HKBU Communication Alumni Conference.

The Alumni Investiture Ceremony was successfully held on 15 October to provide an occasion for alumni who have graduated 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60 years ago to return to their alma mater for the celebration and to get connected with other alumni. The Ceremony, one of the traditions of HKBU, is held to recognise the contributions made by alumni to HKBU and society at large over the years.

This year, 272 alumni, who graduated in 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992 or 1997, and their families and friends attended the event. This included those registrants of the 2021 Alumni Investiture Ceremony who were unable to attend last year’s event due to the then adverse weather condition and the pandemic. During the Ceremony, Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, presented medals to each of the invested alumni. Joining the Ceremony for the first time, President Wai expressed his warmest congratulations to the invested alumni and shared the latest development of the University. In heartwarming and cosy atmosphere, all participants enjoyed precious and unforgettable moments with their old friends throughout the event.

The Alumni Investiture Ceremony was also broadcast live on Zoom, allowing alumni from different parts of the world to join the Ceremony online and share the joy of this event.

Alumni Get to Understand the Latest Development of HKBU through Campus Tour

On 15 October, around 30 participants, including alumni and their families, joined the Campus Tour, during which alumni had the chance to walk around the Ho Sin Hang Campus, Shaw Campus and Baptist University Road Campus, and were able to recall the fond memories of their days at HKBU. During the tour, they were excited to learn about the latest development of their alma mater, especially regarding the development in Chinese medicine.
