HKBU Faculty of Social Sciences Organises a Luncheon in Appreciation of the Support from Alumni for the Establishment of the Faculty’s Student Development Endowment Fund

To express the heartfelt gratitude to alumni for their invaluable guidance and staunch support regarding the establishment of the Faculty of Social Sciences Student Development Endowment Fund (the Fund), the Faculty organised an appreciation luncheon on 18 June at Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East, Tseung Kwan O.
The luncheon was attended by the Fund’s Honorary Advisor alumnus Prof. Justin Chiu (Sociology), Founding Alumni Supporters Dr. Eddie Ho (Sociology), Angel Hon (History), Patrick Siu (Geography; Communication), Tyrone Siu (History) and Stephen Yau (Social Work). Associate Dean (Development) of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Chung Pak-kwong and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee also attended the luncheon.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the establishment of the Student Development Endowment Fund which aims at further strengthening the ongoing efforts of the Faculty to develop students’ potential. Starting from 2021/22 academic year, the Fund will offer financial support to the Faculty’s academically outstanding students, sponsoring their overseas exchange and attachment, and experiential learning activities. It will also support students who require financial assistance.
