HKBU Century Club and HKBU Alumni Theatre Stages a Charity Cantonese Opera

Hong Kong Baptist University Century Club and Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Theatre co-organised a Charity Cantonese Opera on 29 August at the Asia Television (ATV) Studio. Enthusiastic alumni supporting this event included Kent Tsui (Communication), President of Century Club cum Founder and Chairman of Alumni Theatre; Esther Wong (Geography; Social Work), Patron and Vice-President of Century Club cum Vice-President of Alumni Theatre; Yoki Chan (Secretarial Management), Vice-President of Century Club cum Event Director of Alumni Theatre; Professor Justin Chiu (Sociology), Patron of Alumni Theatre and Honorary Advisor of the HKBU Faculty of Social Sciences Student Development Endowment Fund (SDEF); Katie Chan (Communication), Member of Century Club; Cheung Che-kwok (Communication), Mandy Kam (Sociology), Emily Chan (Geography) and Jeoffrey Wong (Humanities). Together they joined hands with other Cantonese opera veterans in the performance and made the show a great success.
Alumnus Ip Ka-po (Communication), Vice-President of Century Club and President of Alumni Theatre, hosted a guided tour for participants. With alumnus Ip alongside, they visited various studios of ATV and also took part in group photos after the show.
Proceeds of the show excluding the expenses of the event and operating costs of Century Club, would be donated to the SDEF of the University, which is established on the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Social Sciences to provide financial support to students of the Faculty of Social Sciences in areas of outstanding academic achievements, overseas exchange/attachment, experiential learning activities, and keen financial needs during their studies at the University.
