The Department of English Language and Literature piloted the first ever online alumni gathering to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the department as well as to honour the retirement of Prof. Terry Yip.

The 70-minute online gathering was attended by a total of 36 participants, including students, former staff members and alumni from the 1980s to the 1990s. Alumni and guests from various parts of the world shared the joyful reunion with each other via ZOOM.

Both alumni and students had prepared some quizzes, the theme of which is to reminisce about the good old days. Prof. Yip was delighted to see so many old faces during the online forum, and expressed her gratitude for such a heart-warming gathering before her retirement.
