HKBU to Confer Honorary Doctoral Degrees on Four Distinguished Persons

HKBU will confer honorary doctoral degrees on four distinguished persons for their outstanding business, political or professional achievements as well as their remarkable contributions to society at its Commencement on 7 November 2011.
Mr. Jimmy Carter, the former US President who has devoted a lifetime to promoting peace and hope, will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Humanities, honoris causa. Mr. Joseph Lee, an enthusiastic social entrepreneur, will receive the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa. Dr. the Honourable Lee Shau-kee, a distinguished entrepreneur, will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa. Mr. Li Lan-qing, the former Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and an artist, will be granted the degree of Doctor of Humanities, honoris causa. Mr. Jimmy Carter and Mr. Li Lan-qing will be awarded the degrees in absentia.
