HKBU Council Dinner in Honour of Honorary University Fellows 2020.1.21

HKBU is honored to have conferred Honorary University Fellowships on eight distinguished persons at the 14th Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 21 January, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to and support for society. The eight recipients are Ms. Mabel Chan Mei-bo, Mr. Cheng Chak-kuen, Mr. Hung Kwong-yee, Mr. Kenneth Kwok Ka-ching, Ms. Cecilia Lee Sau-wai, The Hon. Ma Fung-kwok, Mr. Warren Mok Wah-yeun and Dr. Herman Yau Lai-to (Communication).
It is a tradition of the University Council to host a dinner in honour of Honorary University Fellows (HUFs) in the evening after the conferment ceremony. Around 100 guests, comprising members of the Council and the Court, families and friends of the newly conferred HUFs, and senior management of the University, attended the dinner, and took the opportunity to send their heartfelt congratulations to the HUFs.
In his welcome speech, Chairman of the Council and the Court Dr. Clement Chen, who hosted the Council Dinner for the first time since he assumed the Council chairmanship in January 2019, warmly welcomed the HUFs to the HKBU family and highlighted their achievements, and contributions to the University and the community at large.
