HKBU Alumni Association of Macau Celebrates the Birthday of Dr. Daniel Tse, Emeritus President of HKBU

On 12 October, HKBU Alumni Association of Macau celebrated the 85th birthday of Dr. Daniel Tse, Emeritus President of HKBU, at Grand Lapa Macau. The event was graced by the presence of President Roland Chin and Mrs. Zina Chin, Emeritus President Prof. Albert Chan and Mrs. Mabel Chan, and alumnus Dr. Liu Chak Wan (Honorary University Fellow; English Language & Literature), Supervisor General of HKBU Alumni Association of Macau and Chancellor of Macau University of Science and Technology. Around 90 alumni and friends across different generations from Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China also attended the dinner to share the happiness and extend in person their warmest blessings to Dr. Tse.
Alumnus Paul Pang (Mathematics), President of HKBU Alumni Association of Macau, announced in his welcome remarks at the dinner that the Association has raised a total of HK$420,000 to provide funding for the University’s Village CARE Campaign and the establishment of the HKBU Alumni Association of Macau Scholarship. For the donation to the Village CARE Campaign, the Association is given the right to name a twin room in the Village CARE, a new student hostel of HKBU, after Dr. Daniel Tse and Mrs. Kitty Tse, in celebration of Dr. Tse’s birthday and to express appreciation of the tremendous contributions of Dr. and Mrs. Tse to HKBU over the years.
At the dinner, Dr. Tse composed a poem impromptu to express his gratitude to all guests. In appreciation of the meaningful gift presented by the HKBU Alumni Association of Macau and the goodwill of HKBU community, he also gave out red packets to each of the guests attended the dinner.
