Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of Beijing Stages Inauguration Ceremony and Alumni Gathering with President Roland Chin in Beijing

The HKBU Alumni Association of Beijing (HKBUBJAA) was inaugurated and held its first alumni gathering on 6 July 2019 in Beijing. Over 150 alumni residing in Beijing or nearby areas and guests joined the event. The establishment of the HKBUBJAA marks an important milestone for the University in strengthening bonds with alumni on the Mainland.
At the gathering, President Chin featured achievements of alumni and shared with them the latest development of the University, including the new capacity building project - Village CARE and a Creative Hub which provides over 1,726 hostel places and 5,000 sq.m. of academic space. Founding President of HKBUBJAA alumna Li Yuan, in her welcome speech, expressed her gratitude to the University and senior alumni for their support, and reaffirmed HKBUBJAA’s dedication to connect alumni in Mainland China.
The delegation was joined by Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) Dr. Albert Chau, Associate Vice-President (Mainland) Prof. Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President (Engagement) Mr. CK Yeung, Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee, Associate Director of Academy of Film Mr. Man Shu Sum, Head of the Department of Accountancy and Law Dr. Byron Song. Taking this opportunity, Prof. Huang Yu, Mr. Man Shu Sum and Dr. Byron Song also shared with guests the latest developments and achievements of the School of Communication, the Academy of Film and the School of Business respectively.
The Association was formed with the aim of connecting the alumni residing and working in Mainland China. HKBUBJAA is comprised of the following members:
