Event Information

To celebrate its 55th Anniversary, the University held the second talk in the Alumni Sharing Forum series last Friday (8 April 2011). Three outstanding alumni from the marketing and advertising profession were invited to share their career journeys and valuable experience with around 100 guests, alumni, staff and students. Speaking at the forum were Ms. Kitty Lun Kit-ying (Communication), Chairman and CEO, Lowe China; Ms. Lisa Tsang Ching-man (Business), Production Director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort; and Mr. Edgar Yang Joe-tsi (Communication), Marketing Director, Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Ltd.

With 30 years of solid experience in the advertising sector and having been stationed in Shanghai for the past 10 years, Ms. Kitty Lun Kit-ying advised students not to avoid working in unfavourable situations but to focus on equipping themselves with new knowledge instead. Ms. Lisa Tsang Ching-man, who has much experience in the entertainment and performing arts industry, said it is essential for a person to identify his or her unique selling point in order to stand out among other competitors. In addition, she said the need to embrace change and be passionate is also important to be successful in one's career. Drawing on his 20 years of experience in both advertising and marketing, Mr. Edgar Yang Joe-tsi said a person should possess a certain level of patience and observation skills as well as sensitivity to societal changes in order to survive professionally. He also stressed integrity as a life principle.
