Science Alumni Get-Together to Welcome the Year of the Pig

On 23 February, nearly 140 alumni, senior management, staff, students and friends of Faculty of Science gathered at Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre of HKBU campus to welcome and celebrate the Year of the Pig.
The gathering was graced by the presence of guests of honor Professor Ng Ching-fai, former President and former Dean of Science of HKBU; the Honorable Charles Peter Mok, Legislative Councillor (Information Technology), Legislative Council of HKSAR Government; Professor Tong Chong-sze, Vice President (Administration and Development) of The Open University of Hong Kong and former Associate Dean of Science; Dr. Daniel Kwong, former Associate Dean of Science; Professor Ko Jan-ming, former Head of the Faculty’s Department of Civil Engineering; Mr. Alan Wong, Chairman of Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Science; Mr. Leung Ka-wing, Chairman of Steering Committee on Alumni Relations of the Faculty of Science; and Mr. Alex Leung, President of HKBU Alumni Association. Senior management of the University including Vice-President (Research and Development) Professor Rick Wong; Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) Dr. Albert Chau; Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) cum Academic Registrar Professor Ricky Wong; and Associate Vice-President (Engagement) Mr. C K Yeung also attended to share the joy with the alumni and guests.
Vice-President (Research & Development) and former Dean of Science Prof. Rick Wong expressed in his speech that he was happy to meet with so many alumni and touched by their ardent support to the alma mater. Professor Zhang Jianhua, Dean of Science, also took the opportunity to share the recent development of the Faculty and invite alumni to render support to various projects, especially the pilot schemes of internship and mentorship initiated this year.
A group of Science alumni and friends showing their musical talents in a live band performance was the highlight of the programme and added much fun to the gathering.
