Humanities Programme Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

The Humanities Programme of the Faculty of Arts organised an array of activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary recently. Faculty members, students, alumni, former staff and members of the public attended academic seminars, a luncheon and a concert.
Entitled "Two Decades of Dedication", the luncheon at Langham Place Hotel had 17 tables with more than 200 faculty members, graduating students and alumni in attendance. Students and alumni put on a fashion show wearing society T-shirts from different years. In addition, Professor Peter Stambler, founding Head of the Humanities Programme, visited from the US. Professor K W Eva Man and Alumna Ms. Penn Ip Tsz-ting shared interesting stories from the past and the present.
On display at the luncheon were items produced by the Humanities Alumni Association over the past 20 years, such as T-shirts, newsletters and alumni publications.
The "Our Twenty-Years" Anniversary Concert was also well received by an audience of more than 1,300 at the Academic Community Hall. All those in attendance enjoyed a brand new artistic experience, with different styles of regional music performed.
