Event Information

Organised by Alumni Affairs Office and sponsored by HKBU Alumni Association, the Alumni Soccer Seven was held at Joint Sports Centre on 18 November. This year marked the 11th anniversary of the event which again received overwhelming response from alumni and staff, with over 200 players forming 20 teams to compete in the “Challenge Cup”, as well as the “Open” and “Advance” divisions.

The kick-off ceremony was officiated by Vice-President (Research and Development) Prof. Rick Wong, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and Academic Registrar Prof. Ricky Wong, Head of Finance Mr. Edmund Li, Head of Student Affairs Prof. Gordan Tang and HKBU Alumni Association President alumnus Alex Leung.

At the welcome remarks given by Prof. Rick Wong, he expressed his gratitude towards the support from the participating alumni and staff, with some of them coming all the way from overseas and mainland China to join the matches. This not only showcased the bonding of the alumni community but also their dedication to the alma mater. Prof. Wong also presented special souvenirs to members of the Organising Committee including alumni Jason Mok, Roger Xue and Tim Leung, to thank for their efforts and contributions to the Alumni Soccer Seven event in the past years.
