Homecoming Reunion Poon Choi Dinner

Event Information

The whole-day programme of 2017 Homecoming Day reached its climax when the Reunion Poon Dinner began in the evening, gathering a mix of nearly 500 alumni across 6 different generations from 1960s to 2010s, and from over 25 academic departments. Worth to mention was that the Dinner was also joined by international students and representatives of 18 alumni associations from various geographical locations, as well as current and retired academic members, making it one of the biggest reunions ever.

The dinner was kick-started with a beautiful Chinese dance performed by a group of 6 secondary students from the HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School. After rounds of cheering from the floor led the masters of ceremonies alumni Rebecca Chan and Tsang Chi-ho, President Chin gave a remark to welcome all alumni reuniting with their buddies, academic staff and friends at HKBU on this special occasion.

Another highlight of the dinner was the performance by alumni Joseph Liu and Jonathan Leung, as well as their two band-mates, who sang a total of 4 songs in 4 languages including Cantonese, English, Mandarin and Japanese, showcasing the talents of our alumni.

The dinner ended in a cozy ambience with current and past presidents, as well as representatives of various alumni associations sang a finale song together on stage, warmly expressing their longstanding friendship and close ties with each other.

Last but not the least, despite the adverse weather condition on the day, which Typhoon No. 3 was hoisted during the Dinner, the strong wind has not blown out the passion of the alumni dedicated to the alma mater.
