Students and alumni share and exchange at The Fourth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award High Table Dinner
Event Information
The Fourth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award (DAA) High Table Dinner was held on 13 June on HKBU Campus, which attracted over 160 alumni, students and guests to attend. The event was graced by the presence of Chairman of the Council and the Court Mr. Cheng Yan-kee, President Prof. Roland Chin, Provost Prof. Clayton MacKenzie, selection committee member of DAA, Ms. Viola Man, and other senior management of the University.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman Cheng specially thanked the Award recipients for their contributions to the development of HKBU, as well as their love and care to the fellow students over the years. He encouraged the young alumni in particular, to grasp the opportunity to learn from the success of the Award recipients.
The highlight of the Dinner was a dialogue between the Award recipients of this year, alumni Ms. Delia Chan (Secretarial Management / Chinese Medicine), Dr. Poon Po-chiu (Chinese Language and Literature), Mr. Philip Tsai (Accounting) and Mr. Sunny Wong (Business Management) on a topic, “The Way to Surf and Serve”. They shared with participants the core values and beliefs that they upheld in pursuing their career and serving the community. The sharing session ended in a big round of applause for their insightful sharing of practical experiences and wisdom.
Other than gaining insights from the distinguished alumni, participants enjoyed the ice-breaking game and the Facebook photo competition at the dinner, which ended with much fun and laughter.
