HKBU Century Club Annual General Meeting 2016 cum Dinner Gathering

HKBU Century Club hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2016 followed by a dinner gathering at Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui on 1 December. The dinner was graced by the presence of Vice-President (Research & Development) Prof. Rick Wong, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) Dr. Albert Chau, and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee.
During the AGM, President of the Club alumnus Kent Tsui Kwok-yue (Communication) presented his second President’s Report on the Club’s activities and achievements last year. After the report from Chairman of Election Committee alumnus Thomas Yiu (Civil Engineering), the new Board of Directors for the term of 2016 to 2018 composed of the following members was unanimously elected.

RSM Hong Kong was reappointed as Honorary Auditor for the year ahead. |
On behalf of the Club, Kent expressed his deepest gratitude to the Board of Directors, Patrons and the Honorary Auditor, RSM Hong Kong, for their ardent support to the Club and the alma mater over the years. He also thanked Prof. Frank Fu for rendering valuable advice and the Alumni Affairs Office for providing secretarial service to the Club.
Taking this opportunity, Prof. Rick Wong, Dr. Albert Chau and Kent welcomed the new member, alumnus Ares Law (China Studies) by presenting him a HKBU pin, while patrons and judging panel of the HKBU Century Club Sponsorship Scheme 2016 presented the cheque to the winners. In support of the “HKBU Alumni Tree Naming Campaign” for the First Generation University Student Fund, an auction hosted by alumni Ip Ka-po (Communication) and Jimmy Mak (Communication) was arranged. The alumni and guests bided ardently for the tea ware from Jingdezhen donated by alumna Helen Kwok. The fund raised by the auction will be used to bid for the naming right of alumni trees on campus.
