Diamond Jubilee Campus Tour
Event Information
Around 50 alumni of various graduation years and disciplines together with their friends and families joined the Diamond Jubilee Campus Tour on 2 October. The kick-off ceremony was officiated by HKBU senior management, including Vice-President (Research and Development) Prof. Rick Wong; Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) Dr. Albert Chau; Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu; Dean of the School of Continuing Education Prof. Raymond So; Head of the Department of Journalism, School of Communication Dr. Alice Lee; and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee.
The first stop of the tour was Lui Seng Chun, the Chinese medicine healthcare centre operated by the School of Chinese Medicine. Participants were deeply impressed by the revitalization of the Chinese shophouse (tong lau), which was designated as a Grade I historic building. The group then paid visit to the Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine which aims at fostering a comprehensive and correct understanding of traditional Chinese medicine. The last stop of the tour was the HKBU History Gallery which showcases the memorable items and major milestones of the University since its founding 60 years ago. More than 100 precious photographs and artifacts are on display and participants enjoyed the reminiscences of the good old days, as well as the multimedia resources available at the location.
