Alumni Affairs Office organised The Second Distinguished Alumni Award High Table Dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Lau Chor Tak Multi-Purpose Hall of Madam Kwok Chung Bo Fun Sports and Cultural Centre on HKBU Campus on 27 May 2015. The dinner, which presented a golden learning opportunity for Class Representatives of HKBU, was a great success with over 110 participants and the presence of Chairman of the Council and the Court Mr. Cheng Yan-kee as well as representatives of University’s senior management.

In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Mr. Cheng Yan-kee encouraged Class Representatives to grasp this opportunity to learn from experienced fellow alumni and get prepared for their own career and life planning.

Three Award recipients of the Second Distinguished Alumni Award Dr. Chiu Chun-bong, Dr. Justin Chiu Kwok-hung and Prof. Mark Kai-keung shared with Class Representatives the obstacles they encountered when they started their career and the secrets behind their success. They also encouraged students and young alumni to equip themselves for future challenges. Although Dr. Matthew Lui Yue-chun could not attend the dinner, he had answered the questions raised by Class Representatives earlier via video and audio clips. Class Representatives from various disciplines rode on the occasion to enhance their social and communication skills while they were mingling with one another.

The Annual High Table Dinner aims to provide a platform for students and young alumni to gain insights from the wisdom and experience of the Award recipients. It has become a tradition of the University to pass on the spirit of HKBU alumni.
