Dinner Party for its 25th Anniversary of the Humanities Programme organised by Alumni Affairs Office and co-organised by Humanities Alumni Association
Event Information
To mark the beginning of a series of celebration for the 25th Anniversary of the Humanities Programme of the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing under the theme “Sense of HUM-our, Year of Silver”, Alumni Affairs Office joined hands with the Department and Humanities Alumni Association to organise a kick-off dinner party at Shiu Pong Hall on 10 February 2015. Attended by over 40 alumni, senior management and teaching staff of the University, the heart-warming party was infused with a sense of HUM-our and a sense of pride over the achievements of the Department and of the alumni since its establishment.
At the party, President of Humanities Alumni Association alumnus Edward Chow launched the voting “Be My Cup Of Tee” for the favourite society T-shirts (“Soc-Tee”), and invited participants to cast their votes online (https://www.facebook.com/hkbuhumaa). The most “LIKED” “Soc-Tee” design will be converted to a tote bag for selling and all income will be donated to Department of Humanities and Creative Writing.
Apart from taking photos with tailor-made props, participants had a great time at the cake-cutting ceremony when they sang a birthday song together with President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S.C. Chan, Dean of Arts Prof. Douglas Robinson, Executive Associate Dean of Graduate School Prof. Eva Man and Head of the Department Prof. John Erni. Other teaching staff from the Department to share the joy included Prof. Lo Kwai-cheung, Dr. Amy Lee, Dr. Charles Cheung, Dr. Gladys Chong, Dr. Chow Yiu-fai, Dr. Louis Ho, Dr. Lucetta Kam, Dr. Leung Po-shan, Dr. Peter Lok , Dr. Jue Sun and Dr. Daisy Tam.
The event ended on a happy note with every one taking a home-made cupcake as souvenir and they are looking forward to seeing all the HUM people again at the Reunion Luncheon on 10 Oct 2015.
